Linton Court Retirement Village
Our History
Linton Court Retirement Village (LC) is owned & operated by Linton Court Elderly Peoples Homes Society Inc. ABN 78 633 988 978 ( LC ) , An Incorporated Association that is registered with the Australian Charities & Not-For-Profit Commission. LC was formed in 1971.. Local couple Ted & Lydia Linton floated the idea of a community body to provide independent living units for retired people and they offered to donate suitable land they owned not far from the town centre. The Foster Rotary Club took up the idea and formed a Registered Benevolent Society which is LC. It was 1980 before sufficient funds were garnered to build the first units, and since then the village has grown to include 27 units administered by LC.
In addition to the above, Linton Court in 1973 leased a part of its land to the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFF&H) under a 55 year lease. The DFF&H built 8 one bedroom units on this land which they administer independently of the Linton Court Committee. The full ownership and control of those units reverts back to Linton Court at the end of the lease in 2028.
Linton Court Management
Linton Court is run by a volunteer board of management which includes resident representatives. The Residents Meeting is on the first Wednesday of the month, followed by the Management Committee Meeting on the second Wednesday of the month.
The aims of the management are fully aligned with those of the residents. The village group – management, residents and our volunteer helpers – work as a team to sustain and advance the interests of both current & future residents. We are so fortunate to have great people willing to donate their time and skills to benefit others.
