The Units

All units are either near new or have been extensively reconstructed and renovated over recent years. There are 21 two bedroom units, 6 one bedroom units and we have just completed construction of 5 two bedroom units this year. The units are located on a large land holding of about 5 acres, so there is plenty of open space as well as natural bush on two sides.

Each unit is built with features to make things a little easier for older people for example non-cubicle graduated floor showers. drawers a little off floor level and dishwashers.

The units are independent living units and residents also have easy access to all community support services.  Resident ages vary from early 60’s or younger to 80’s or older, all living an active independent life.

The village has shared community recreation facilities including a  community meeting room/ hub area, outdoor rotunda areas, community vegie garden & orchard.

Foster is a rural town of under 2000 population, but is blessed with a 12 doctor medical practice, a good hospital & a very new Nursing Home. It also has a very active community with all normal sporting clubs & social activities.

We have continued to improve the design of our units progressively over time. Our Hon. Manager Lloyd McKenzie says that his favourite time is when he shows people over the units for the first time.

“As we are a community run Retirement Village people inevitably expect to find units that are fairly basic but adequate.   However the units are so much better than that , they are top class. I love seeing the look of pleasant surprise and wonder when people see just how good the units are.”
